Acetal, also known as POM (Polyoxymethylene), is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic material that offers high strength and stiffness coupled with high dimensional stability and ease of machining.

Boasting high strength and stiffness, it is among the strongest and stiffest of all thermoplastics — coupled with high dimensional stability and ease of machining. Acetal is one of the most widely used engineering-grade thermoplastics and is easy to machine, making it an excellent choice for complex parts where tight tolerances are required. It may also be processed by conventional injection moulding and extrusion techniques.

Acetal is characterized by a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties and offers especially low moisture sensitivity in wet environments. It also offers good electrical properties and resistance to a wide range of chemicals including many solvents. It is used in a wide variety of industrial applications where strength, toughness and low moisture absorption are required.

Acetal has superior flexural and tensile strength, coupled with incredible hardness and dimensional stability.

Corrosion Resistant

Acetal homopolymers are able to resist corrosion and degradation in freshwater, solvents, saltwater, reagents and oils.

Consistent

When exposed to various temperature ranges, none of its properties are compromised. Thus keeping the fatigue resistance high along with lubricity and creep resistance.
